April ’17 Faves

Hi guys! Thank you for taking your time to check out my very first blog post! I wanted to start this blog to share my journey in life as well as my passions and adventures. You can read more all about me on my Get to Know me page. Since today is the last day of April I thought it was fitting to start a little segment on my page called Faves, where I post my monthly favorite items, songs, tv shows, etc and people can comment down below with their monthly faves as well.

First of all, I cannot believe that tomorrow will already be May. Where did the first 4 months of this year go?! Just two more weeks till my 24th birthday. This month has been nothing but new things for me including moving in with my boyfriend, our fur babies, and our bestfriend. But with the chaos of a move and this being my very first post, I didn’t want to have a huge list. Still I have a few things I want to share.

I wanted to start off my April monthly faves with this delicious vanilla protein powder by Tone It Up! Now I just want to be clear that I am not a nutritionist nor really know a lot about anything nutrition. After Thanksgiving 16′ I decided to become vegetarian and have felt so much better, but I had a lot less energy than I did before. I realized that it was because of my lack of protein in my diet. Even though being a vegetarian there are several other ways to get your protein, I just wasn’t adding them into my diet correctly. Like others, my New Year’s resolution was to start working out not to only look good, but feel good and I heard people from my office talk about this Tone It Up program so I wanted to join in as well! (Another fave!) I checked out their website and recently decided to buy their protein powder to add into my smoothies. It is certified organic, Non GMO, no gluten (I’m allergic), and Vegan! Seriously guys, this stuff gives me so much energy! I don’t drink coffee because of heart problems, but this stuff makes me feel like I just had a nice big cup of joe. They also have other flavors and you can buy/read more about it on their website or visit your local Target store. https://my.toneitup.com/collections/my-perfect-fit/products/pfp-canister?variant=1443837697

So I think I am a little late to the party, but my second fave of this month is the Mario Badescu rose water facial spray. Now I know everybody has been talking about this for a while, but for those of you who don’t know yet this facial spray contains aloe, herbs, and rosewater. My skin is incredibly sensitive and breaks out with any use of harsh chemicals or ingredients so this stuff is perfect for me. After a long day at work wearing makeup for 12-14 hours makes my face feel uncomfortable and gross. Before I go to bed and after I wash my face I just spray this a few times and it leaves my face feeling nice and hydrated. I’ve heard you can even spray this on your dry hair and it works just as good! www.ulta.com/facial-spray-with-aloe-herb-rosewater?productId=xlsImpprod6200727

I’ve been obsessing over floral dresses this Spring, but haven’t been able to find the right one that fits my body just right until now! I actually went shopping to find a maxi floral dress, but this one is perfect with the deep v-neck and soft colors that I just couldn’t say no. I purchased this from this cute little boutique in Claremont, CA called Nectar. My style is normally pretty boring with solid colors and no prints, but this store helps me get out of my comfort zone a little. Their prices aren’t too bad, just a little more than forever 21 (This dress was $38) and everything is so cute. I actually also bought these heels from there as well a few months back. They have a few other locations and definitely has a lot more options in the store than online, I wasn’t able to find this dress or shoes on their website, but check them out! http://www.nectarclothing.com

My fourth and fifth faves of the month are these hair products! My hair has not been this long since I don’t think ever and I have these two products to thank for that. The first product is Hair, Skin, & Nails gummies by Nature’s Bounty. These gummies are a delicious strawberry flavor filled with biotin, which helps the growth of your hair, skin, and nails. I take one of these a day and it helps my hair and nails grow fast. You can literally find these anywhere like Target, Walmart, CVS, etc. The other hair fave is the Avlon Kera Care leave in conditioner. My hair was extremely dry and damaged so my hair dresser suggested to buy this off amazon and it has helped immensely! I use it once a week by washing my hair like normal and leaving this in my hair for 10-15 minutes. Now I have long, healthy hair.

Last, but not least my sixth fave of the month is the You are a Badass book How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life by Jen Sincero. I heard about this book by a youtuber named Kalyn Nicholson and I am so glad I listened to her and purchased this book off amazon. I actually haven’t even finished reading this book yet, but it is already one of my faves. I don’t want to give anything away, but I will add the excerpt that is on amazon:

“In this refreshingly entertaining how-to guide, #1 New York Times Bestselling Author and world-traveling success coach, Jen Sincero, serves up 27 bite-sized chapters full of hilariously inspiring stories, sage advice, easy exercises, and the occasional swear word. If you’re ready to make some serious changes around here, You Are a Badass will help you: Identify and change the self-sabotaging beliefs and behaviors that stop you from getting what you want, blast past your fears so you can take big exciting risks, figure out how to make some damn money already, learn to love yourself and others, set big goals and reach them – it will basically show you how to create a life you totally love, and how to create it NOW.”
